He started his career as a software engineer, and worked as a remote developer for over ten years.

In Ukraine there are over 200,000 IT professionals working for over 5500 software agencies who provide services to clients all over the world. This software-outsourcing business is worth over $8.4 billion/year. London-based companies, struggling to hire locally, are increasingly looking at places such as Ukraine to find qualified engineers. Being on the “other side” of delivery, Max will share some key organisational, cultural and management insights into running a distributed team. He will share his view of why Ukrainian developers are excellent at engineering and less so at communication and entrepreneurship. He will explain and demystify "outsourcing" vs "outstaffing"; highlight the risks you may have building a remote team, but also how to minimise them. He will also provide insight into how a remote agency sees their client, and how they manage an engineering team for a foreign customer.
