What is Future CodeHers?
Future CodeHers is an initiative founded by Oliver Bernard; designed to inspire and encourage young girls to pursue a career in the technology industry.
Why is this initiative
so important?
There is an enormous lack of gender diversity across the technology industry. Research shows that the gender gap starts in schools, with female students accounting for just 15% of all entries into A-level computer science.*
...of females say a career in technology is their first choice
...of females have had a career in technology suggested to them
...of students can’t name a famous female working in technology
...of leadership positions in the technology sector are held by women
How are we delivering this?
We’ve formed partnerships with schools from across the UK, connecting them with our ever-expanding community of tech guru’s and community contributors. We’re able to provide a platform for them to excite and influence aspiring young Future CodeHers.
